Water Cannon Fired At Turkish Protesters
Turkish police used a water cannon and fired tear gas to disperse anti-government protesters near Dolmabahce Palace which is Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's office in Istanbul in the early hours of June 5. In retaliation, protesters set off fireworks and flares at the police, filling the air with thick smoke.Dozens of Turkish demonstrators were detained.There was heavy police presence in the area which is home to Dolmabahce Palace, a former Ottoman residence on the shores of the Bosphorous and the Dolmabahce Mosque which was built in the late 19th century.
